We had an amazing stay at Tubbrid Castle. Not only is it in a gorgeous location, but the thought put into restoring and furnishing it really tells the story of how much love John and his family have for the castle. Every need you could possibly have has already been thought of and taken care of. John gave us excellent recommendations for food, shopping and my favorite, hiking. I was in awe my entire stay, thinking of all the memories the castle walls must have.

Tubbrid castle is amazing! The pictures don’t do it justice. Our stay was unforgettable. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer, we stayed for 3 nights and wish we had booked 7! John and Helen were very responsive and thoughtful hosts. The experience is more than you can possibly imagine and we hope to return often. This is a truly unique experience that you will not regret!

“Beautiful castle! If you want to feel the spirit of Ireland—this place is for you! The castle itself is very unique. It is very old and gorgeous outside, but inside there is the symbiosis of old and modern. The smell of cleanliness is everywhere. Beautiful fireplaces and very comfortable beds for good sleeping. We’ve had super nice vacations and we’re very happy that we’ve found and chose Tubbrid Castle to spend a couple of days.”

Wonderful kitchen, comfortable beds, a fireplace on the kitchen level, lots of amenities (bonus points for having a Babyliss hair dryer!). Kilkenny is a lovely town with many good restaurants. I would highly recommend staying at this beautiful and unique castle. It made our trip to Ireland extremely special.”

Tubbrid Castle is a perfect mix between fairy tale and modern day luxury. He is a dream of a host and the castle was equipped with absolutely everything that we needed. Not a single detail or amenity is overlooked. I loved all of the window seats, beautiful drapes, bathroom sinks, showers, French press, glasses, furniture, kitchen island, and the doors are amazing... I could go on and on... I truly did not want to leave!

This is truly an experience like I've never had before. My family visited for my mother's birthday and it was absolutely amazing. Can't recommend it highly enough. John gave us a great tour & few historical stories. The castle itself is very well equipped and comfortable. Location is quiet enough if you'd like it, yet close enough to some towns if you're interested in exploring. I will be recommending this to my friends & will hope to come back again sometime.

The restoration of the property and interior design are impressive — its a place of great history and also comfortable and stylish, a whole experience.
